One of my two readers complained that I was spending too much time talking about Auburn Football.  I don’t think you can spend too much time talking about Auburn Football.  But since not much is going on down on the Plains and I am a little tired of reading about it and more ready to actually see them play, I will end my discussion of Auburn Football here.

How about those Atlanta Falcons?

Seriously, everyone needs to slow down with the Superbowl talk.  The way I see it, the Falcons have three areas where they are below average at best: wide receiver, offensive line, and defensive backfield.  On the other hand, I think they have maybe the best offensive backfield in the NFL along with a solid defensive line and an excellent group of linebackers.

My prediction is that Atlanta will run for a lot of yards (Warrick Dunn, TJ Duckett, Michael Vick, and no go-to wide receiver) and will lose a lot of close games (their defense won’t give up a lot points, but the offense won’t score that many either).

9 - 7 with a first round playoff exit, if they make the playoffs.

Keep in mind that this franchise has never had back-to-back winning seasons, therefore 9 - 7 is an unmitigated success.  In the offseason, they can make a run at a big-time offensive lineman to anchor their line and pick another one up in the draft.  With a better offensive line and more experience at wide receiver, the Falcons should be legitimate contenders NEXT YEAR.

My other reader, after he got finished complaining about the content on my website, set me straight about the Aristocrats.  I haven’t seen the film and I doubt I will.  I have seen the South Park version (which I wouldn’t really recommend, hence no link) and I have read a handful of “reader submitted” versions on the interweb.  Bottom line: filthy is funny for a little while, but it gets old quickly.

Speaking of reader #2, his family certainly understands the web.  All of his siblings have websites and his wife updates their baby blog.  My brother has never replied to an email from me, and I know he knows how since he uses it at work.  My wife wouldn’t know where to begin if I asked her to update a blog.  It’s not that she couldn’t, it’s that she doesn’t think/believe she can.  She is a helluva lot brighter than she gives herself credit for, she just lacks the self-confidence.  Don’t ask me where it comes from.

Our first den meeting of the year is this evening.  Scouting has been going fast and furious since last week.  Our round-up netted us 36 new scouts helping our Pack to more than double.  I am certainly more comfortable this year as I have a year of experience as Cubmaster and I have a lot more people to rely on for support.

I am trying to look past the amount of work and responsibility to see the fun.  I know it’s there.  I just have to find it.

Sounds like you have a couple of straight-up NERDS reading your site.
